Hi, dearest,
Whadda day! The tension of giving a paper
before the Medical Officers Professional Meeting is
over. (rep:- “Atelectasis in the Practice of Anesthesiology). Lots said
it was good so maybe it was worth it.
Then I wrote letters furiously all afternoon
[me, the slow writer][1] & wrote letters in arrears to
everybody from Alice to Margery to Joseph-Doaks-the-
pickle-merchant. Anyhooo, I wrote so fast
[seemingly][2] & so long that that was a tension.
Then I had a shock—sortofa a [sic] “de-
tention” (“whoosh out”) phenomenon. Doctor Roantree
had a coronary occlusion that tried to kill him
him & had him “out” blotto for 2 days. He has
servived [sic] it, according to Mrs Green’s letter, but
ohhhhhhhh how it makes a guy “sink”—
when ya think of how ya use to keep apace
that driving/work-horsing man day & night.
I feel very very sorry that it happened to him.
Ya see—I know him, “insidely,” far more than
most people & that coronary-threat (future) has (UNQUESTIONABLY)
“murdered” him inwardly/“insidely”. Infact—
Guess I’ll stop writing dearest,
All my love,
Dave
