This is just
what I considered
“smart” as a method of
proving a 2-months-late
arrival of the application blanks.
[In reference to his Service Chief describing him as “Thoroughly prepared”:]
This madame,
is the way long-line
New-England blue-blood[1]
phrases a compliment.
Remember
dear old New-England,
m’love—where the
Cabots-speak-only-to-the-
(lets say)-Hatches-&-the-Hatches-
speak-only-to-God”.
