[The following is written on the back of a photo of a room fitted with rows of cot:]

This is one-half of a long b[uild]ing

that was partitioned into

many rooms as private

quarters for the lesser S.S. officers

& their mistresses—we

knocked the room walls out

to make mass-treatment

wards. The TB, typhus, mal-

nutrition riddled skeletons

we worked on + the enviroment

was just about as dingy &

sordid as this picture

appears to the eye.
