scientific-“barrage”-unit-box—FIVE!

This explains how I have 2 of them.

In subsiquent letters Ill reveal

more of its uses but so far I can

say this:- the lens is phenomenal, & as

of present seems to be only a short-range

lens suitable only for such as mounting

the camera (it has a “just-made-right” mounts)

on the bar of Ter, lets say, Terry’s[1]

crib or play pen & getting close-range

every lovable & enduring baby

expression you wish to “catch”/”stop”

(in cameraman’s slang). Jacobi & I are

working it out slowly during our

time off c̅[2] [the help of][3] a Major Smith who knows

more about cameras than we do. our

main bottle neck is film, but even

if we dont get it all “fathomed-out”

before getting home, so what—

however we feel another lens can be

superimposed for $20-$55 to make it

an all-purpose [(long-range)][4] camera even if it

isnt made for other than close range

as we now “see” it. Just one thing,

is that we feel it could be run even

as a movie-taking-camera if we

could just find the secret. Enclosed

is a poor but starting-example that

you have enlarged just to see what

could be seen when worked right c̅

decent film & a decent understanding

of the camera (we’ve had only 2 nights to

test-try it). Oh, darlin’, the more I think

& write about it the weaker I get—

Ohhhhhhhhhh! Why, Em, a F 1.5

lens is second even to the best lens

in the world, & even Leica-Robot-

Compur, etc have only a “measly” F2 lens

(I believe there is a lens in the world made @ F 1.2).

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!. AND an

E-L-E-C-T-R-O camera! Ohhhhhhh!

Guess, you know that a F2 F 1.5

would even “catch”/”stop” Thump’s[5]

bubbles he blows while “bubbling”

& giving a (teething) “razzberry”—

some punkins—huh?!

Well, dearest, I could rave for pages

more but Ill stop. I just should

go to bed as its getting late.

All my love,

Dave

P.S. 3 minds have figured & figured what the Krauts[6]

used the camera for—analizing a weapon

during test firing? recording the readings on a

dash-board-like pannel of some machine? mounting

them in an aviators cockpit to “catch” him or his

dash board of instruments?—as it was in

the part of a huge warehouse that seemed “devoted to”

antiaircraft & artillery weapons. YOU GUESS. Women are “PSYCHIC.”
