Hi, dearest,

The letters I’ve written you recently

have been done c̅ what seemed to me to

be a blank-mind—guess maybe

its been because I’ve been so last

outright “pooped” these past 10 days.

Infact, right this moment I just

cannot think of a “decent” thing to

write except repititions. Isn’t it

awful!

REPITITIONS:-

(1) I hope my $50 to you (via P.T.A.[2]) as

“sent” in a letter, as a New-Years Eve

present arrives (2) Please buy 2 copies

of C.S. Lewis’ book (even though extravigant)

so that you can send one at once.

(3) I so hope my E.F.M.s[3] to you, Terry,[4]

& Mom-Dad (3 of ‘em) have arrived by now

or even lots sooner (4) No mail today—

none of your packages have “made-it-through”

(5) I need stamps very very badly—&

think over the idea of enclosing one in

each of your letters so as to “combat”

financial loss via pillaging or mail-loss.

(6) There is “absoloute silliness” (UNQUOTE Wilitzski[5])

in a V-mail to Dad. (7) Howzabout “shooting”

up that roll of film up every 2 weeks (REPITITION 7777x).

[2]

Say, darlin’, I’m an awful curious

(& funny sez she) guy—can you take

a picture of that Columbia, S.C. picture.

The 100% reason is that I’m for some

reason or other, horribly curious as to

what you look at so many hours of

day {& or}[6] night.

Gosh! I am a “blank”—I had

better stop writing. I’m sorry but

in a day or two we should get “our-

chins-a-little-about-water” & then

I’ll be able to write better.

Let m’ ol Pal Thump[7] pitch for

me tonight by givin’ ya 3 super-druper

smackers on the left cheek—gee,

I’m glad I’ve got him around to

pitch ‘n “make-up-for” the Ol Man

when the Ol’ Man is slippin’ such as

tonight & recent days. Infact—

he will even “talk” (for me)—

All my love,

Dave
