2 Forwards have
come. “TANKS.”
Dearest,
By the time that this arrives
you should have received the EFM[2]
“telling” Terry[3] [(via you, of course)][4] that I’m financially
glad to give be able to give him
$56-$58 more a month—via the
form of a Captaincy. [Repitition][5] This is
in spite of my 2 major “friends,”
apparently. No other reactions exist.
Your Feb. 6th’s:—came c̅ the 2
airmail stamps—“tanks” darlin’.
As I said before, you can forget
to send ‘em every once in awhile
now as I have a fair reserve stockpiled.
I must confess something—
[I’m more honest than I use to be][6]—
as yet I just havent gotten around to
packaging that Old Spice stuff. Its
always such fuss-feathers-rigamarol
to wrap-mail-pay for packages, that
I’ve put off something as “small” as
that Schutton stuff. Sorry! However,
[2]
Dads cigarettes were
sent long enough ago
to have gotten there. Also—
absoloute proof that I don’t get all your
letters is your re-noting that the NYC→
Bis[marck] phone call cost $18—I never
received that letter.
Yup——dearest——IF YA WIN
YA LOSE——applicable, too, to
dysmenorrhea: menorrhagia ← (lots of it).
Im glad you have “won” on time-factor,
even though you haven’t “won” on
actual pain (always).
I never guessed my picture was
up near Lorenzo’s in that snapshot.
[Repitition][7] Can ya satisfy my curiosity
about what you look at each day
by taking a time exposure of that
Columbia photo. Oh yes—today
I spent time & “feathers” trying to get
a negative printed—the one taken
in a blizzard. I have the promise
of a print ↔ (printing paper [is] more “treasured” than
platinum) from kind of a lazy EM who
may or may not get off his “duff” &
do it in 1, 2, 3, 4 days. Here’s hopin’!
[3]
Can you please send me
some of those new-fancy-
scientific dehydrated
rhudabeggas [sic] mixed c̅ other vegitables?
Nope! I’d never show Thump[8]
his “rudeness” if you can catch him
goin’ -40 MPH c̅ his clothes off—
like most babies, I betcha.
[Repitition][9] S.A.G. is all the most
more less likely now—infact
as written 3X, 4X, 5X, before it was
decided againts [sic], some weeks back.
(Judge’s) John Jansonins could be in
Aux 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, or 9th all the
way from England to Naples. My
friends are chiefly 2nd Aux, although
I know some 1st Aux, too.
Say, Schmalzie, how do ya
get that way!—hoggin’ all the
credit for givin’ Thump his (QUOTE) “bad
little temper”—howzabout
givin me a “cut-in” on part of that
credit, huh?!
Again—I missed writing on
14th Feb & 17th Feb—otherwise Ive been
pretty able to get ‘em off—even tho [often][10] lousey.
[4]
Just as souvenir papers
Ill send one “example” each
of the newspapers published in
Europe. Where these are run off the press
I’m not quite sure, but I cant seem
to see that they were run off in this
town—thus should be “sendable.”
Ill also enclose The Armored Patch
Dobie gave me as a souvenier the
night I went on that “wild-cat”
hitch hike to see him. Just sumthin’
to send—nuthin’ special about it.
(this all will go in a separate envelope today.)
(P.S. Now “TANKS” ↔ Thanks ↔ TANKS—whoz crazy!)
Later:—
Well no mail today but I “ainta”
kickin’. Guess Ill write no more than
this page because sometime-someday
an hour or more will have to be spent in
a discussion/laying of facts/understanding
c̅ the other MD anesthetist—for months
it has been “building-up” that this
Jewish refugee doctor from Prussia (1936)
feels he is superior & trys to control
things [(rather than 50:50)][11]—sort of a “Prussianism” + Judiasm
I imagine. I dont want to fight c̅
the guy, so help me, but “The Whole” just has
to be talked over.
Soooo, till tomorrow—& always/all ways
