Dachau Concentration Camp

Germany 25 May 45-7:30PM

[As yet

I havent

outside wrapping

paper for the 7 pkgs

I tied up last night.

Tomorrow (or Sun) Ill

start them off

one at a

time, each

day.][1]

Dearest,

I wanna see “Jack London” movie

tonight even though I know nothing

of the movie’s handling of it. So right

off I’ll jump into your 3 swell letters:-

Your May 11th’s:- has 3 well,

scrumptious outdoor-in-buggy-snaps-

W H A D D A   S M I L E !

Im sorry that “magic” of writing-

before-mail-delivery-time failed you.

It has me, too, a number of times but

at least 60% of the times its successful.

Maybe I subconsciously do it only when averages are good for it.

Jus’ gimme the chance to

help you out c̅[2] a “fussy-baby”—

after all, a doctor (& hospital orderly) are

very well broken in on the wake up→

sleep → wake up biznezz!

Your May 13th’s:- Say! even from

a picture little ol’ Thump[3] even shows

obviously/pictorially how he works after

things. PRIVATE [Say Terry!, ya gotta “learn” to play besides—

or mebee make some wonderful girl dissappointed someday][4].

[2]

So many times Ive forgotten to speak

of something IMPORTANT—how I miss

those things you write on the back of snaps

when they arent there. I realize it

would be incongruous to write on

certain ones, but geeeee! how “see-full”

& enhanced those notations make a snap.

Infact, darlin’, your fineness, genuineness,

& wonderfulness sorta takes “expression”

in those notations. Don’t ever stop, dearest.

Anyhooo, the 2 snaps half-out-the-T.B.

came in this particular letter [P.S. Also—

I never told you just how swell I think that

snappy, cocky, “sharp” [Army][5] & nice duck

is on the back of the T.B.. Yousah! I shore

do “go” for that duck c̅ high approval][6].

Anyhooo, your Mammy’s Day letter

starting out to Pappy, dear—was

just so “tops” ‘n nice ‘n swell. Ummm!

Gosh! didnt you get an EFM[7] re: “the best Mother

in the world”—its the best I could do & it

should have landed right on Mothers Day, I believe.

What are Terry’s features that

are you. This is a dumb sodden way

of asking about your sentence:- “…He has

a couple of features like mine…,” but I’m

[3]

not real sure from snaps just what is

what—you tell me, darlin’.

Your May 14th’s:- Juss cuz I

usually pass over the stamps you enclose

(in a quick-way) darlin’, don’t think

for a moment that I don’t appreciate

them; infact you’re very faithful &

verrrrry nice to send them. (Here lately, they

even took 3¢ imbeded-stamp-Govt-envelopes &

surcharged them up to 6¢ airmails). Soooo,

you see they aren’t the “freest” thing

in the world over here—that is, 6¢ stamps.

Im so tickled that the

divorce of E. Belkott & Dr Sprengeringen

is thouroughly understood. I still

get weak when I think of the terrible

difficulty [in][8] “handling” oriental names.

Let me say this & you please be

sure to note it in a letter, dear:—

“The family living at 710-4th St is

comprised of Emily Belkok, Miriam

Bentleyin, & John Benjaminawa”

Phewieeee!—how clumbsy but you

get the fact of Ok|in|awa—also

you “get” just how damn hard it is

to “handle” oriental names s̅[9] being obvious.

[4]

By Vet. Admin. Service, dear, I &

60,000 doctors mean that unless some

of the “stink” qui[et]s down in your

fair United States about Vet. neglect

by incompitent doctors [Readers Dig., NY’s “PM,” etc][10]—they

will just force (while still in uniform)

the good doctors now overseas

right smack into Vet. Hosps—

sorta make a screwball coercion

ammendment to the “Duration-Plus-

Six-Months”—AND dont

every [sic] think they can’t do it! [and

“they” means any Comma[n]ding {Officers Person[11]—much as our

single officer-quota-chance in the 7th Army for

2 ½ months ( 10X via once a week) of his officers chance to

go to Paris. Oh, Em, that rotten “S-P-A-R-T-A-N”!][12]

Anyhooo, rather than spout the TRUTH

for hours, lets me close c̅ a very pleasant

thought—yet hard to express. Whenever

I see ol’ Thump in a snapshot just ah’

workin’-away {fixin’ or investigatin’}[13] sumthin’

I just purrrr all over at his intelligent,

cute, lovely facial expressions [His fixin’-expressions are so diff. from others.][14]—they

are so nice—‘n you must {know & see}[15]

better than I do. And, too, I purrrr

all over when I think of–All Our Three Loves,

Dave
